How To Verify Authenticity Of Gucci Serial Number

The rear of a modern, rectangular serial number tag contains anywhere from 10 to 13 digits, arranged in two rows. The first denotes the style of the handbag, while the second row is the supplier/batch code. This code will never have letters, and the font contains serifs (feet) on the numbers.

However, be sure to note that this code is not unique to your specific bag - other bags identical to yours that came from the same series and supplier will have the same code, therefore two authentic Gucci handbags can share the same serial number sequence.

Furthermore, since 2016/2017 and through 2021, in addition to the serial number tag, Gucci began using QR codes, located on a black fabric tag inside the bag to help fight against counterfeiters. These QR codes can be scanned with smartphones to authenticate the bag.

The interlocking GG closure is very different from the modern examples, but is extremely unique and a true Gucci. Note that the inside of the bag does not have ANY serial number tag, yet it is unmistakably an authentic.

On the right, you will see an example of a vintage serial number tag with rounded edges, as well as the Gucci crest, with the numbers printed in gold. Examples like these do not adhere to the typical serial number tag standards and absolutely stunning.

You can see the quality in the hardware and craftsmanship. Take a look at the serial number tag - it has rounded edges and does not adhere to standard number codes. The front face of the tag is also different: note the gold print and lack of the trademark that you find on modern Gucci bags.

We all know that nothing can make a beautiful woman look even prettier and lovelier than a stylish handbag, especially one made by Gucci. Choosing a bag for yourself or as a gift for someone special is quite an exciting process by itself. However, since Gucci is very popular you should beware of buying a fake one. And one of the most reliable ways to authenticate a Gucci bag is to check its serial number and learn how to read it.

Some people who want to buy vintage Gucci bags or have them and want to check their serial numbers can be surprised to find that old handbag don't have these serial numbers at all. Does it mean that they are all fakes? Actually, it doesn't.

The truth is that rectangular leather tags with right angles and serial numbers on the opposite side (which you saw in the pictures above) which are so widespread right now first appeared only in the 1990s.

One of the easiest checks to make is the serial number on the watch. Every Gucci watch is sold with an authenticity certificate, which features a serial number. You can check this serial number with Gucci to confirm that the watch in question is genuine.

There are four other areas where you can spot differences between real and fake Gucci handbags. One of the great things about Gucci bags is the level of detail in each one, the fabric or leather, the hardware, and the tag with serial number. Each of these has the potential either to allay or confirm your suspicion that it could be a fake.

The serial number tag is considered by many to be the best way to distinguish real from fake. The Gucci serial number is typically located on a leather patch sewn at its top to the inside of the bag; it is not sewn down on all sides. The tag should be a square, or a slight vertical rectangle.

The font of the numbers is dainty; any numbers that look too straight or modern are from a fake bag. With new bags, the serial number will be two rows, one over the other, and there will not be letters in the serial number. The format varies in vintage bags and might include periods or hyphens. The numbers will not necessarily line up perfectly. The vagaries of craftsmanship, the difficulty of embossing pigskin, which some of the bags are, and other factors mean that the numbers will appear a little unevenly lined up.

Finally, you can use the serial number to help you weed out suspicious bags. The number will be made up of two rows. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be consensus about what the numbers mean, but experts suggest that the top row may be the style number, and the bottom number may be a supplier or production code. The total number of digits will be between 10 and 13.

Unlike many verified Gucci fashion products, Gucci glasses do not have a unique serial number. Instead, you will find an inscription on the inside of the arm detailing a model number, color code, and measurements. Continue reading to learn where to find this unique number in detail to quickly determine if your Gucci glasses are authentic.

For instance, these Gucci frames would display 491408; whereas this set would have six numbers after the model code, ones like the example above might show only five digits. However, the size code should always be four digits with a square in the middle, followed by a three-digit number. After the model number is added to the other codes, you will end up with a code about 10-18 digits long. If you have purchased your Gucci glasses from a verified seller, you can look to your certificate of authenticity or care label to see if the string of numbers matches. Can You Look Up a Gucci Serial Number? On all Gucci glasses, you will find two capital GGs which represent the company logo. As you can see, the numbers are inscribed after this trademark with spaces in between. With a simple search on specialty apps, you should be able to find the model of frames based on these codes.

For older glasses made before the early 2000s, you may run into an issue of glasses lacking any type of code due to general ware of differences in manufacturing. If this is the case, several other factors can verify the authenticity of your glasses.

There are two numbers engraved on the caseback of your watch. One number is directly below the other. The bottom number is your serial number. It is generally comprised of two or three letters followed by four numbers. However, there may be exceptions (3 letters with 3 numbers or 6 numbers for certified chronometers).

Richard Mille serial numbers are engraved on the bottom of the caseback of your watch. The serial number begins with the prefix 'RM' and is followed by a series of alphanumeric characters separated by spaces. Please note, there may be variations from the examples below including serial numbers that incorporate dashes (e.g. RM00-00 AA BB 00/00).

Michael Godard serial numbers are comprised of a prefix of letters followed by numbers. The letters are generally an acronym for the artwork's title and the type of art. Michael Godard Originals feature handwritten serial numbers located on the back of the canvas. Serial numbers for Limited Editions can be found on the COA.

National Geographic Fine Art Galleries artwork serial numbers are comprised of a unique combination of alphanumeric characters. Generally, the serial number has a numerical prefix followed by letters and numbers.

The greatest advantage of finding a serial number in your Gucci product is that you can use the number to check that the product is real. There are a few ways to confirm the authenticity of the product using a serial number.

You can also use an online service that authenticates luxury items using the serial number and several photographs of the item. Another alternative is to take the item in-person to an individual that authenticates luxury products.

The Gucci brand was established in 1921. Vintage products may have serial numbers that look nothing like the serial numbers on more modern products. Some old products may lack serial numbers entirely. Others may have a two-digit serial number or incorporate dashes and periods into the serial number.

Why do we care whether it's a "serial number" or "style number"? Because, technically, a "serial number" is an identification code unique to that exact product. Whereas, a "style number" is a code unique to a group of products that share the same characteristics. While both are helpful tools for authenticating, two or more products can share the same "style number" whereas no two products would share the same "serial number".

The next step in how to authenticate Gucci is looking at the serial number. Serial numbers are another great way to identify what is real vs fake when buying a Gucci product. A new genuine Gucci bag should have a unique serial number located on a leather tab inside the bag that is a square or slight rectangle.

If you search the serial number online and a completely different bag shows up, then you may have a fake bag on your hands. Unlike many other luxury handbags, Gucci does not include a date code on the tag that will indicate when the bag was made.

Some Gucci bags also have specific patterns that are tough for fake manufacturers to copy. For example, fake Gucci horsebit bags are often easy to spot due to failure to copy the complex pattern. Compare pictures of the real patterns to the ones on your bag to verify its authenticity.

For example - the first 11 digits of the serial number " 400593 AP00T" indicate Gucci's brand-authorized supplier code for the specific style. The third set of characters," 90. 36," indicates the SIZE length, 90 indicates the size in CM, the number 36 indicates the waist size in INCHES. The last set of characters represents the color; Gucci also uses 4 digits and 6 digits for the last set of serial codes for specific items.

You can contact Gucci by email or phone to check the serial number authenticity for most products. If you have a newer product, Gucci products from late 2016 onwards have QR codes that you can scan to verify whether the product is authentic.

Once you have the serial number of your Gucci product, you can contact Gucci by phone and provide the serial number to check for authenticity. Gucci offers customer service over the phone daily, but hours may vary depending on the day.
