Behringer Bca 2000 B Control Audio Driver

And that's before I make mention of the built-in one-in/two-out MIDI interface, which allows up to 32 MIDI channels to be sent from your host software alongside the audio. Currently, that software will be running only on the PC: no Mac drivers were available at the time of this review (late November 2004), and there's not even basic Core Audio compatibility at the moment. It seems that Mac drivers are on their way, but with no ETA.

But there is one small problem: the dynamics processor is a fixed stereo device. All analogue audio passing into the BCA2000 will be processed if the circuitry is enabled, which is not necessarily what you'd want if you were recording two separate parts at once, such as might be the case if guitar and bass were being recorded, or a miked vocalist and stereo keyboards. It doesn't offer a dual-mono option, nor simultaneous stereo plus mono operation. Still, it's worth having.

A handful of switches help manage the BCA's digital interfacing, which is actually pretty well specified. Optical and co-axial digital connectors are provided, and between them they can accept or transmit S/PDIF or AES-EBU digital audio; the optical connectors are also compatible with eight-channel ADAT, or four channels of the enhanced 24-bit/96kHz ADAT S/MUX format. Not all choices can be made on the panel: bundled control panel software provides access to the missing parameters. Interestingly, the co-axial output will still function in stereo when the optical interfacing is set to work in ADAT format. Digital channels 1-2 or 7-8 can also be output by the co-axial connection.

Behringer didn't stop there: the front panel offers a mono mix audition button, plus control room/headphone mix dim and mute switches. Further monitoring sophistication, of a digital kind, is provided by a Monitor switch: this enables a 'direct monitoring' option, adding latency-free monitoring of audio returning from your software host.

The BCA certainly exibits latency, and rather more than I would have expected. There are two issues: first of all, there's the delay that occurs between playing some audio via the interface and hearing it come back from the target software during recording or overdubbing. Then there's the delay between playing a note on a MIDI controller and hearing the audio output of a software instrument hosted by your target software being played back via the interface. Both types of delay are very much in evidence with everything freshly installed. Luckily, the recording and overdubbing problem can be easily dealt with, since the interface offers latency-free hardware monitoring options, as explained elsewhere. Tweaking the monitor balance knob and the track monitoring features of your host software should eliminate all audible delays. However, I found that although I could create acceptable latency values for playing software instruments via MIDI by tweaking buffers, the additional hit this caused on my CPU brought me closer to audio problems and break-ups than I would normally be happy with. I found settings that provided a compromise, but it wasn't the best.

Once installed, the driver works fine, and plants a little control panel icon on the Windows XP task bar. This panel lets you customise latency, select the digital clock source, choose an ASIO monitoring mode, and set up the two-channel digital output format (either AES-EBU or S/PDIF). In addition, you can customise the meter ballistics to offer peak hold or faster decay reading.

It's a shame about the current lack of Mac compatibility, and the compromises on the analogue inputs, but at what would be considered a fair price for an older-style USB 1.1 audio interface of this spec, the BCA2000 offers great value for money.

You can simultaneously use 3 analog input sources (1 mono + 1 stereo) with digital input sources. Its ultra-flexible input/output configuration is supported by a comprehensive LED audio routing indicator plus button (status) LEDs. Input signal distortion and A/D converter overload are prevented by the adjustable studio-grade analog input dynamic control (noise gate + limiter)

Simply connect your B-CONTROL to your computer via high-speed USB 2.0. Then connect your keyboard, guitar, and mic. True audiophiles will surely appreciate the fully equipped master and monitor sections with 100mm fader, individual level controls for 2 speakers, 2 phones, and low-latency direct monitor function plus separate dim, mute, and mono functions.

eXtream Software Development has written a custom USB audio driver from scratch because Android did not support USB audio until Android 5. Even Android 5 and upward has very limited support for USB audio devices (see below) and as such this driver remains very useful for every Android version higher than 3.1. Next to that, our driver provides low latency, making it possible for example to play virtual instruments in real-time on many devices that cannot do this using the Android driver. The driver supports mono, stereo and multi-channel streams, 16-, 24- and 32-bit resolutions and any sample rate that the device provides. If your device exposes internal mute, volume and/or gain controls, they can be controlled as well. For our media player, USB Audio Player PRO, the driver allows to play in bit-perfect, something that the Android driver will never do.

Google introduced USB audio support in Android 5, unfortunately our tests have shown that their driver has several limitations (aside not offering low latency). Please see here for more information:

The devices are: the BCF2000, a MIDI controller with motorized faders; the BCR2000, a MIDI controller with dozens of rotary controls; and the BCA2000, a multi-channel Audio/MIDI control interface. Each of the units in the B-Control series has a different primary purpose. The BCF features faders; the BCR features rotary controls; and the BCA features an audio interface.

In addition to the full complement of knobs, the BCR2000 has a double row of push-buttons switches along the top. A four-digit LED display in the upper right shows the current values of controls and other messages, and there is a set of configurable switches along the right-hand side.

The BCR is easy to hook up to a computer or other hardware. A USB cable is provided, and current drivers can be downloaded from the Behringer site. The controller has three MIDI connections, which can be used to connect MIDI devices to your computer or to control MIDI equipment directly. MIDI cables are not included.

The B-Control family puts Behringer firmly into the MIDI/computer music business. The Behringer BCR2000 offers thirty-two rotary encoders and an array of switches that can be configured to work in almost any MIDI/computer music setup, and does it very inexpensively. At their prices, the B-Controls put hardware MIDI control within reach of most musicians.

Autres dénominations : b control audio bca2000, b controlaudiobca2000, bcontrolaudiobca2000, b control audio bca 2000, b control audio bca20 00, b controlaudiobca20 00, bcontrolaudiobca20 00, b control audio bca 20 00, BCA2000, BCA 2000

The device is the Behringer BCF2000 (Figure 1), and it has a numberof nice little features. It has eight faders, eight pan pots, 16programmable buttons, an additional bank of four buttons for transportcontrol (play, stop, fast forward and so on), and all of these buttons, faders, dials and switches are programmable, groupable and toggleableso that, with the proper configuration, you can control up to 32 tracksat any given time.

Although you can use the Behringer control surface family (the BCF2000 isone of several models in the BC line) with any MIDI program that supportscontrol surfaces, if you're looking to control Rosegarden or TerminatorX,the companion BCR2000 might be a better bet for you. The internalelectronics are nearly the same, but the physical interface is better forvoice and event triggering, while the BCF2000 is laid out like a mixingboard and is ideal for the kinds of complicated mixing that I do for myaudio projects.

It doesn't load up BCA control panel anymore.(i have no access to my unit neither in audio programs)Ok, so I decided and unplugged my unit.. uninstall all drivers... went thru my registry and erased all bca and Behringer relative entries.. erased all my files in windows/system32 (etc).Reinstalled everyhting and all remains the same.. so.. i decided and i uninstalled everything relative to this unit.. i also unplugged my pci-usb2.0 card from my motherboard, plugged it again.. turned on my pc.. reinstalled everything from my bca's drivers and.. it remains the same.. so I formated my HD and made new clean installations of Win XP (both general and DAW).Then... i tried again.. i installed my drivers.. and guess what? Yes... it remained with problems. Also, and because i have already installed 3 times my S.O, i tried both ACPI and Non ACPI installations. None worked again. This unit worked for 2 weeks just fine... now.. it gives me that error. anyone has any idea? please? :(
