Ghost Whisperer - Season 2 ...

In the United States, original episodes of season two aired between September 22, 2006 and May 11, 2007. For airdates on other networks and in other countries, see: International Airdates. Season two had a total of three main characters in the first episode, Melinda, Andrea and Jim. When Andrea departed at the end of the episode, the following episode featured a new main character, Delia. The second season follows Melinda again as she struggles with her fight against a dark force from taking over the town of Grandview.

Ghost Whisperer - Season 2 ...

Ghost Whisperer's second season aired in the United States (U.S.) on Fridays at 8:00 pm ET on CBS, a terrestrial television network, where it received an average of 9.90 million viewers per episode.[2]

In the second season, Melinda crosses over Andrea and meets Delia Banks (Camryn Manheim), her son Ned Banks (Tyler Patrick Jones; Christoph Sanders in later seasons), and Professor Rick Payne (Jay Mohr), all of whom, by season's end, come to learn of Melinda's ability, with varying reactions. Delia remains slightly skeptical. The second season revolves around the thinning veil between the living and the dead. Melinda meets Gabriel, who has similar abilities to hers. But Gabriel is working for the Shadows (as yet unnamed) and working to make sure that ghosts do not cross over into the light, and in fact is working to block the light from all ghosts.

At the end of the season, Melinda finds four children, each of whom have survived a different accident and have been prophecising about a tragedy. Melinda believes she has to protect these children and at the one-year memorial walk for the plane crash, she pushes the children out of the way of a collapsing monument, but is struck and killed by it herself. She sees the light, and a ghost appears and talks to her. The children resurrect Melinda (it was actually the children's job to protect her). When questioned by Jim, Melinda reveals that she believes the ghost was her father, Tom Gordon (played by Martin Donovan), and that he told her she has a brother.

The show was produced by Sander/Moses Productions in association with CBS Television Studios (originally Paramount Network Television in season one and ABC Studios (originally Touchstone Television in the first two seasons) and CBS Paramount Network Television in seasons two and three).

Sound effects were completed at Smart Post Sound.[10] Visual effects for the pilot and some season one episodes were completed at Flash Film Works.[11] Visual effects for nearly the entire series were created at Eden FX.[12]

Melinda is introduced to Grandview real estate agent Delia Banks, after she catches her son Ned stealing some collectible concert tickets from her store. At first Melinda assumes the young boy has just lost his way, but his behaviour may be the work of a ghost. Melinda's scheming ex-boyfriend Kyle (Michael Landes) pays her a visit from beyond the grave.

Melinda helps Ned deal with a ghost who had just put a scare into him. Melinda also helps a ghost who appears to her without any clothes on. Delia sees that Melinda is once again talking to herself and Melinda decides it's time to share her gift with Delia, but is drastically unprepared for her skeptical reaction. The ghost of Delia's husband appears to Melinda when he haunts Delia's love interest Tim, but his motives are unclear.[1]

Last season, Ghost Whisperer took a huge creative risk. Jim (David Conrad), the supportive husband of Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) died, refused to cross over, and stepped into the body of a dying man named Sam. Melinda and viewers knew Sam was Jim, but it took Jim, whose soul suffered some sort of amnesia in its new body (which viewers still saw as Conrad's), some time to figure it out. He finally did, and the season ended with the couple learning that they were pregnant (the baby is Jim-Jim's) and that the child will be able to do "much, much more" than his mother, who can see and hear dead people.

* The series' 100th episode. It's the 15th episode this season, and it too will be directed by Hewitt. "It promises to be explosive," Simonds adds. "That's all I'm going to say."

The Waco, Texas native was just 26 when Ghost Whisperer debuted on CBS, but she was already a 15-year industry veteran. As a Top 40 recording artist, TV actress (Party Of Five), and movie star (I Know What You Did Last Summer), Hewitt brought substantial show business clout to the series. She was a producer for the first four seasons and executive producer for season five. Hewitt also directed three shows, including the explosive 100th episode.

Series creator John Gray based Melinda on Mary Ann Winkowski, a paranormal investigator who communicates with spirits who have not yet crossed over. Winkowski discovered her abilities at age seven and was encouraged by her grandmother (like Melinda). Gray and Winkowski first met at a Starbucks a year before the series premiered, a meeting Winkowski said was also attended by ghosts (who apparently paid for their own coffee).

Nine-year-old Abigail Breslin plays Sarah Applewhite, the first ghost Melinda saw as a child. Sarah appears in her fourth grade classroom just as her teacher (Debbi Morgan) is announcing her death. In the present day, Melinda returns to the school to investigate why her childhood friend has not yet crossed over. Just a few months after this episode aired in January of 2006, Breslin starred in Little Miss Sunshine, earning an Oscar nomination.

This also answered our question on why the Shadows were so interested in getting ghost children above anyone else. The Shadows were trying to build a bigger army to destroy the Shinies, but the Shinies are stronger and more powerful.

"The Walk-In" is the seventeenth episode of season two of Ghost Whisperer and the thirty-ninth episode of the series overall. It was directed by Eric Laneuville and written by Breen Frazier. It first aired on CBS on Friday, February 23rd, 2007. In this episode, Melinda Gordon is bewildered when she deals with the ghost of Jason Bennett, a man who died before his high school graduation, some ten years ago. Now, Jason has inhabited the body of a former classmate who killed himself by walking into traffic. Melinda must help both Jason and his former classmate come to grips with their deaths.

The description of this show may sound like the Judd Apatow version of The Ghost Whisperer, but that's only because this is the Judd Apatow version of The Ghost Whisperer. Anyone else think that could be awesome? Starring Tyler Labine (some of you may know him from the CW's clever show Reaper), this half-hour supernatural comedy follows Kevin (Labine), an overweight underdog who makes his meagre living as a medium for ghosts. Basically, he's the New York City Medium.

If anyone didn't see the first go-around of this improvised western comedy on Hulu over the summer, well, why are you still reading this list? Go to Hulu and stream it right now. Featuring a hilarious performance by star John Lehr, it's a fun spoof on serious Western dramas like Deadwood. So catch up on the first season and look forward to the second in 2014.

This is the Wachowskis foray into original programming for Netflix. Co-created by J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5) this sc-fi series is aimed at adults and centers on eight people who are suddenly able to connect with each other telepathically. Sounding like a cross between Heroes and Babel, this series is getting a lot of hype and buzz. Both creators are set to write and direct episodes, and although casting has yet to be announced, the series is set to shoot in the summer of 2014. Expect a fall debut (just in time for awards season) and high production value. Dare we expect a Keanu Reeves guest starring role, too? 041b061a72
