Wild Ginger Software Cameo vs Other Pattern Making Software: Which One is Right for You?

Wild Ginger software has changed my life and the software is amazing and reliable! We only had a Mac 1,5 year ago and we wanted to do design work on a home machine. We tried many other graphic design programs but none had the reliability of the Wild Ginger software.

The software is pretty stable but I'm still learning it and I haven't worked with Cameo Pro yet. The lastest version was the hardest to learn because it allows you to draw in 3 different ways, and the lessons, as they are called, are for the most part just clicking and dragging. The lastest version eliminates the lessons so you can just click and draw and I think it's easier. The software is like a dream machine, it's so responsive and just works great. The software allows you to get your drawings into their in three different ways, using sheets of your origami paper, the Digitizer or paper with no digitizer.

Now I can drop in layer over layer, add a gradient and blur without having to find my files and open them up again. Whats more is that you can share a copy of your file with the creator of your pattern (provided they have Wild Ginger!) and they can edit the file with no knowledge of the edit is done in the background. You can also share the layers directly to a job site.

Wild Ginger offers many advantages over other type software (PDS): 1- Small footprint: provides multiple windows in the single screen. Other software occupies the whole screen when opened; 2- Scalability: the user can open large files and work on multiple layers for 2-3 days without loosing focus. In the other software, the user can loose focus and may not work on that layer for a period of time.
